San Leandro Newsletter: November 2021

Curriculum in November

N Is for...November and Nursery rhymes. This month the children will be learning about nursery rhymes and thanksgiving. Nursery rhymes are not only cute and short, they serve the purpose of sequence, language development, recalling, and memorization. With art, science, sensory, and math activities scheduled for the chosen nursery rhymes this month, the children will be set to have fun and learn a few new songs to sing at home. As thanksgiving comes later in the month, we will discuss the word “thankful” and what it means to us all. For more details of scheduled activities please refer to your child’s curriculum calendar.

Looking Back

In October, we put on our eye spy glasses and searched for many community helpers within our community! The children were so excited to meet our local mail carrier, a firefighter, a bus driver, a veterinarian and a librarian. Our dramatic play area was filled with costumes for children to role-play in like; chefs, construction workers, police officers, and doctors. At the end of the month, we had a pumpkin patch, costume parade and trunk-o-treat” It was so much fun!
