A Summer's Day at Kids Konnect San Leandro's Summer Camp
9:00 AM - Arrival and Welcome
The day begins with a warm welcome as your child is greeted by our experienced teachers, ready for a fun, discovery-filled camp day. With an 8:1 child-to-teacher ratio, each camper gets the individual attention they need to feel confident and safe. Children ease into the morning with free choice play - building, exploring engineering-focused toys, playing games, and moving between play areas designed to spark curiosity and creativity.
9:30 AM - It's Snack Time
10 AM - Themed Activities
Interactive, hands-on projects kick off the day with tiny hands swirling through bubbles during “Soapy Suds” week, or exploring rough tree bark in “Nature Meets STEM.” These sensory adventures help children grasp big scientific ideas in a way that feels natural and fun. From building with LEGOs to creating art with recycled materials, each activity ties into the weekly theme to spark learning and boost creativity.
11:30 AM - Outdoor Play
We spend plenty of time outdoors, staying active and exploring the natural world right in our backyard. Whether it’s games, climbing, water play, or hands-on nature exploration, our outdoor space gives campers lots of fresh air while they learn, move their bodies, and have fun.
1 PM - Lunch Time
We all enjoy lunch together picnic style outside!
1:45 PM - Afternoon Activities
Each afternoon, we rotate hands-on science projects, and children can also choose to dive into arts and crafts or gather with friends for a board game.
3:00 PM - Outside Again
We head back outside to stretch our legs, play active games, and release some of that extra energy.
4 - 5:30 PM - Free Play
We end the day with calm free play, giving children time to wind down, follow their own interests, and enjoy small group activities while they wait to be picked up.

Kids Konnect San Leandro is well known for its focus on STEAM learning, and we've channelled that into our Summer Camp! Themes like ‘Junior Zoologist Camp’ and ‘Creative Recyclers’ are not mere titles but narratives that enrich children’s comprehension of the world. Our 'Culinary Adventurers' week, for instance, is a delectable blend of cooking and science, rooting lessons in taste and teamwork.
- Nature meets Stem introduces great outdoors and the wonders of science. Expect for your children to explore forests, create cool gadgets, and discover how nature and technology work together. Plus, this week includes a field trip to Sulphur Creek.
- Soapy Suds Lab transitions from getting dirty to the fun of cleaning up using soap in art, water play, and science activities. A pool party on campus makes this a crowd pleaser every year!
- Junior Tech Camp is aimed at budding engineers, focusing on designing cool projects and solving fun challenges showing how technology can help create amazing things. We'll take our little learners on a field trip to the San Leandro Library.
- Ocean Discovery dedicates a week to sea creatures and ocean ecosystems creating cool ocean-inspired crafts. We'll explore further on a field trip to a Mobile Fish Exhibit through East Bay Parks.
- Junior Zoologist Camp focuses on the amazing world of animals .They’ll learn about different species, their habitats, and what makes each animal special through fun games, crafts, and outdoor adventures. Then we’ll observe incredible animals up close on a field trip to the Oakland Zoo.
- Fun with Language: Spanish Camp introduces basic Spanish through games, songs, crafts, and stories in a playful and exciting way
- Culinary Adventures makes food a medium for learning, with cooking projects that teach about measurement, healthy eating, and exercise. Plus, everyone loves this week's field trip to Ghirardelli's.
- Creative Recyclers turns "trash" into treasure by building sculptures and gadgets from repurposed materials. We’ll even welcome a local crochet group for a special visit to inspire us with fun, new ways to create.
- Dance, Drama + Music is a week for your child to shine!They'll learn dance moves, act out stories and boost their confidence through the performing arts.
