Hibernation/ Winter Animals: We start the first week of December learning about animals that live in cold areas and how they adapt. From bears hibernating to birds flying south to seek warmth—the children will learn how animals adapt to the changing weather.

Hanukkah: The children will be learning all about the different holidays in December, starting with Hanukkah! Hanukkah begins on December 10th and ends on December 18th. There will be fun activities ranging from art projects to cooking projects. The children will be painting dreidels, Menorah collages, decorating the Star of David and making yummy snacks.

Winter: Winter is officially here! For the third week in December, the children will be exploring the season of winter in their activities; from making 'snow' to creating their very own salt crystal snowflake. Other activities include baking snowflake cookies and painting their own paper snowflake. The kids will also learn how to cut their own snowflake patterns with the help of their teachers.

Christmas: We have a short week for the 4th week in December. As most families will celebrate Christmas thus week, the children will be working on tree crafts, patterns, ornament making, and baking fun!

Kwanzaa: Kwanzaa begins on December 26th and ends on January 1st. The children will be making Kwanzaa chains, color mixing, and learning about unity. Unity is one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. Although these holidays differ in some ways, all of the holidays celebrated this month share a sense of quality time with family and community.
